Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy, the spirit of fame and fortune, is one of the most ugly habits and bad manners. In the moral teachings of Islam, great importance is given to the believer to do good deeds for the sake of Allah, and his heart should be filled with the spirit of sincerity and divinity. Achieving is not about making a name for oneself and appearing in public or gaining their praise and worldly gain. The Almighty is very selfless. It is not acceptable to do a good deed in which a Muslim is not sincere in doing it. The good deed has been done for the sake of pleasing someone else or for worldly gain. Hypocrisy is the opposite of sincerity.

Sincerity means doing something for the sake of the pure, while hypocrisy means doing something for the sake of showing off to others so that they may appreciate, honor, or gain some other worldly benefit from it. For this ugly habit, the meaning of “riyaa” (show) has been used interchangeably in the Holy Qur’an, while in the hadiths, in addition to riyaa, the meaning of “samaa” (narration) has also been used for this meaning. Hypocrisy is related to the power of sight, while hearing is related to the power of hearing. Therefore, some scholars have differentiated between the two in that an action is done to show people and people see it. So, it is “riyaa” whereas “samaa” is that A man does something for the sake of doing good deeds or doing it secretly but then for the sake of gaining fame or gaining the pleasure of the people or gaining some benefit from them.Purpose and hearing (the desire to please people for the sake of good deeds and to benefit from them) is a very ugly act of worship and is strongly disliked. It is strongly condemned in the Qur’an and Hadith. With such a vile and corrupt intention instead of sincerity, not only is goodness lost and the human is deprived of reward, but it is also a cause of severe divine punishment.
