Creativity

The famous Picasso quote goes, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he/she grows up”. There are some that hold the view that schools somewhat dampen creativity in the pursuit of academic success. The famous Ken Robinson TED talk “Do Schools kill creativity?” one of the most viewed TED talks of all time, supports this notion.

Creativity is the freest form of self-expression. There is nothing more satisfying and fulfilling for children than to be able to express themselves openly and without judgment. Let them express their ideas on paper, they are good in observation and they can draw things even with more details. I’ve 3 boys and daily I’m witnessing their creativity. They use their imagination to make things work for them. Appreciate their creativity because this will boost more confidence and courage into them.
.
For children their art is like a master piece and they are very sensitive about that, our appreciation and positivity can be the source of power for them.
.
Their imagination is more important than knowledge. Daily my kids are discussing their plans of making various things. They are planning for making huge towers, planes , etc and I always take interest while hearing all. Because my positive response matters…

During imaginative play, children manipulate materials, express themselves verbally and non-verbally, plan (intentionally or unintentionally), act, interact, react, and try different roles. Great opportunities for learning are possible when children participate in creative play with pillows, vehicles, blocks, rocks, cardboard, or boxes.
.
Encourage their creativity and imagination…!
