Toxic Parenting

We as a parent always want best for our children, best in all ways… food, education, manners everything. Parenting is a challenging task and it requires patience and wisdom both at time. We are also humans and sometimes we get exhausted or tired with our duties and we start behaving odds with our children too. It happens not a daily basis but happens. This doesn’t mean that we are not good parents or our intention is bad. We feel guilty for our odd behaviors with our children of course. Unfortunately, some of us go beyond the occasional mistakes and becomes Toxic parent for our children.

Maybe you experienced any situation when you were a child, I’m talking about…

* Parents fail to provide security and affirmation to a child.

* Parents should occasionally involve in appraising their children with feedback about their actions. A toxic parent takes this to extremes by being overly critical about everything their child does. Parents can make the mistake of believing that they do this to make sure their children avoid making costly mistakes.

Unfortunately, what this behavior really does is causing the child to develop a detrimental inner conflict that can be borderline crippling during adulthood. * Toxic parents often turn their children into their own parental substitutes and dumping grounds for their own frustrations by demanding their attention at all times. * Parents make toxic jokes on children. All parents occasionally pick on their children, but when the so-called jokes become routine meant to insult or demean their children, this can be a huge problem.
